Drones used in the War on Terror

Another way that the war on terror is fought is by using drone strikes.  These strikes have proven that they are capable of killing terrorist without putting soldiers in harms way.  They also have the capability of showing troops on the ground surveillance on what’s going on around them.  There are two types of drones that are used in the field the MQ-1B Predator and the  Reaper (Drones).  Two pilots fly these drones and most are controlled at the Creech Air Force Base in Nevada (Drones).  This is an obvious a fantastic advantage, pilot’s stay out of harms way and can get close to the enemy.  They help us have 24/7 eyes in the sky and save many soldiers everyday from harm.  This is an ethical and great way to have an advantage in the war.  These drones were used strictly for these policies until 2002.  That’s when these drones started becoming deadly not only to the terrorist but also to civilians.

The drones are capable of not only surveillance the area but to also rain down hell from the sky.  Both of these drones are capable of carrying hellfire missiles.  The MQ-B is equipped with two hellfire missiles and can strike from five miles away.  It can also can fly at one hundred and thirty-five mph (Drones).  These missiles are unbelievably powerful and can take out targets anywhere it chooses.  Although the MQ-B does sound like the ultimate weapon its cousin the MQ-9.  The MQ-9 is known as the Hunter Killer, it carries four hellfire missiles and laser guided bombs such as paveway II and GBY-12.  Also its speed is incredible with a maximum speed of two hundred and thirty mph.

The use of special forces is more ethical and productive.
